The most important thing we can do to keep our brains functioning properly during times of stress and to think clearly is proper breathing. Breathing exercises are critical to keep an adequate supply of oxygen coming to our frontal cortex so our higher brain functions can be supported.

All it takes is to focus on your breathing for several minutes as frequently as necessary. Breath in through the nose to a count of four and breath out through the mouth to a count of 6. Your productivity and awareness will increase, stress will decrease.
